SITING AND ANCHORS (print on A4; click to enlarge photos)
The Dryer needs a flat space about 3.5 metres square, pitched at right angles to the prevailing wind. If the wind veers, you can protect your washing with the shield. Ideally, keep away from trees, which will dirty the cover. Siting

If your Dryer is movable, it must be anchored:
1 in a breeze, push the pegs through the eyelets in the ballast bags over the ground rail
2 in a wind, toggle the bags and hammer in the pegs; or put the bags on top of the ground rails and hammer the pegs fully home. This will deal with winds up to Beaufort 6, or 25-31mph: “on the sea, whitecaps everywhere, a good deal of spray; on land, large branches move, whistling in phone wires, umbrellas difficult”. At that point, toggle the Dryer’s legs together and move it to shelter.
Once you are sure your Dryer is in the right place, you can set it in concrete with our post kit, and make a walkway of four 600 x 600 slabs within gravel within garden edging, for a clean surface for shoes and any fallen clothes. Use the Order Form for extra ballast bags and pegs, or a post kit. Siting
